The City of Paris has announced when opening the general public to .paris, on 2 December that more than 6,000 names were bought in less than two hours.
The stakes are high for all who want to benefit from the image of the City of Light, even if the award criteria do not make the extension .paris the equivalent of a label Made in Paris: just, to claim it, to justify a commercial or sentimental link with the city, even from across the world.
So beware, ".paris" does not mean "to Paris!"
